Woodley United fans provide huge donation to food bank

“Last Sunday Woodley United FC Ladies football team played in the first round of the FA Cup, for the first time in their history. They were drawn against Oxford United WFC, a team who are several levels higher up in the football leagues.

It was a huge day for the club and the local community.

Instead of charging the record-breaking crowd to watch the game, they asked people to bring donations for the local food bank.

So many items were donated, it took 3 car trips to take it all to the food bank. A wonderful example of kindness from grassroots sport!”

Thank you to the club’s General Manager for allowing me to share this wonderful story.
