“I have terminal cancer and sometimes my drugs make me embarrassingly unwell in public. Today I was shopping in Hobbycraft in High Wycombe and I had to abandon my basket and rush out of the shop in fear of throwing up.
A few minutes later I composed myself and went back into the shop to collect my basket and continue shopping.
A staff member, Paul Dowling, came over to me and quietly said “are you okay, you looked a little unwell and I wondered if you’d like some water” and he handed me a bottle of cold water.
I was so touched, I nearly burst into tears. I really needed the water but also his kindness after a tough couple of days to a complete stranger just made me so happy and feel so cared for.”
What a wonderful story of kindness. A big thank you to Ginny for allowing us to share it.
