“After calling out a local event for having someone who had said and done many questionable things in a safety role for newbies, the event organiser removed them from the role.
Several people also messaged me privately to thank me for calling it out because it made them feel safer and like people cared.
I think it can be easy to focus on the bad – but there was huge kindness and compassion shown by the organiser when they found out about the individuals history, and by other people in supporting me mentioning it and checking in with me afterwards.”
This sounds like a hard thing to do so it’s especially wonderful that it was met with kindness.
