Celebrating kindness superheroes

It’s 2 years since I started Time for Kindness. Despite being a short time compared to other things I’ve worked on, it is already up there on the list of things I am most pleased to have done. From the beginning my aim has been to highlight the kindness that I believe exists in the

They might say kids are cruel but kids are often very kind. In fact since September two of Kezia’s friends have been helping a new kid at school to find the classrooms for his lessons.  It’s a big secondary school with several buildings on the site and must be confusing to find your way round

Rent money

On hearing a friend was facing eviction, an anonymous kindness champion loaned him some money to stop that happening. What a huge kindness that made such a big difference to his life.

Kind colleagues

Stef has some wonderfully kind colleagues, specifically one who brought in some gluten free custard creams because she remembered Stef was gluten free. And one on reception who opens the doors automatically when he sees her coming. How kind is your workplace?

“We were camping on a farm and the farmer let my 12 year old have a go driving the little farm truck around the field. It made his day.” Thank you Ellie for sharing such a lovely kindness from her holiday.

Kindness at work in action

How do you celebrate kindness at work? Julia Levy has started a kindness at work honour roll to celebrate those doing kind things from paying for a colleague’s groceries during a difficult time to mentoring a colleague to help them get a promotion, to driving a colleague to a doctor’s appointment, to spending time helping

a large garden with various plots growing a variety of fruits and vegetables. Most plots are dug into the ground with a small amount in raised beds. Two people stand at one plot.

Does your local community have garden plots? In Stephenville, their Lions Club has community garden plots, a community garden and community market working to address food security.
