At the purpose-built Berkshire MS Therapy Centre in Reading, the automatic doors from the car park open to reveal the reception desk immediately in front of you. The volunteer receptionists greet everyone with a welcome and a smile, providing a really positive experience from the minute you come through the door. One of the volunteers […]

Team Time for Kindness – a big thank you to our volunteers!

Half way through #VolunteersWeek seems like the perfect time to say a huge ‘thank you’ to my Team Time for Kindness volunteers. At Time for Kindness we have a wonderful team of volunteers who helped out at our first in-person event. They gave up their time to involve and encourage visitors to share their stories

Tying the shoe lace of a stranger.

I was walking back from my local shops and an old lady walking the other way asked me if I would tie her shoe lace up tighter for her. Of course I obliged. How are you showing kindness this bank holiday Monday?

Bus driver shows kindness to

My teenage daughter and niece were on the way home from a friend’s house, where they had been celebrating the end of term. They saw their bus was at its stop, so they started to run. A car drove past, through a puddle, and swamped them in more water (not so kind!). They weren’t yet

Screenshots of two emails. One reads "Dear Bruce, I have spoken to Paola and she would love to have a chat about the support you need and whether she can help you. As I mentioned, she has been working with a former client of mine who was also in a position where they needed to improve their communications and required delivery support to do that. I’ve copied her in to this email so that you can contact each other directly and arrange a mutually convenient time for a chat. Best wishes, Sarah." The second reads "Dear Sarah, Many thanks – I’ll gladly follow-up with Paola. Timing is good. I have an act of kindness for you to record. It’s your cheerfulness in helping us find a communications specialist! Best regards, Bruce."

Kindness in the comms community

Bruce contacted me to see if I could help his charity with their comms, the support I provide is not what he needs, so I suggested a contact of mine and put him in touch with her. He made this comment about my kindness in helping him. “Dear Bruce,I have spoken to Paola and she

Grandchildren show we’re all born to be kind

“Out of the mouth of babes… We are hosting a Ukrainian family and they have a boy, 7yrs old, Amir. I was chatting to grandchildren over breakfast and Amir came up in conversation and my grandson said ‘all I want is to be there for Amir’ I was so proud.” That post was made by

Football fans display kindness in Maidenhead

While in the clubhouse bar before a match at Maidenhead FC a couple of weeks ago, my husband, daughter and I were standing with our drinks and having a chat – there were no available seats. It was about half an hour until kick off and freezing cold (it was an evening game) so preferable

Celebrating kind women

In recognition of International Women’s Day on 8th March, I decided to write about 5 women that I admire for their kindness. Of course, there are many more kind women in the world (in my world and the wider world) and this list is just to get the conversation started. I’d love to hear from

An accountant lives on in her cats thanks to friendship

“My accountant announced her retirement and readiness to travel. A few days later she called to say she was dying. My gal and I drove an hour to say our farewells. At her home, we were regaled with stories of Margarett working tirelessly to finish closing off her clients books. Everything had been arranged, organized,

When kindness is hard

Kindness isn’t always easy, as an anonymous sharer explains: “I’d spoken to someone in my life about a fun thing I wanted to do with them. They messaged me a while later to ask if it was okay to do it with someone else. I was hurt and could have been nasty and made them
