Strangers help Monty the labradoodle after 14ft fall.

a wet golden labradoodle stands in the shallows of the sea as the sun sets. Text overlaid reads "Strangers help Monty the labradoodle after 14ft fall.”

“My parents and our dog were out for a lovely walk in upper Wharfdale, until our dog Monty decided to do something completely our of character and jump a wall.

This is the 1st time in 6 years he has jumped a wall – I have to lift him over walls and stiles as he is my diva.

The problem is the other side of the wall had a 14ft plus drop into the river Wharf.

I waded into the river to swim Monty to safety, a lovely family walked down and helped me carry Monty up the steep verge. They gave Monty their coats, supported us,  I didn’t get the families names but thank you soo much.

Also Claire who called the vet and took us to Skipton to the Kingsway vet hospital. The vets called the fire service to help move Monty in case he had a fractured spine.

Kingsway cared for Monty all night and let the emotional paw parents in to sit with him.  Monty is now at Swift referrals awaiting a CT scan and MRI to help plan his treatment.

Monty is not out of the woods yet but the care and support from complete strangers was so heart-warming.”

We hope Monty is recovering well and a big thank you to the anonymous owner who sent this in. Send in your stories of kindness here. And read even more heart-warming stories:
