Sharing Kindness Stories: Quick Help From Caring Strangers

a two lane road with footpath on the side.

At Time for Kindness, we believe kindness is everywhere. When we take a moment to notice it, whether it’s in our families, our communities, or even in the strangers we pass in the street, we start to see just how much good is happening around us every single day.

That’s why we share real kindness stories from our community every week. These small acts of kindness matter. They remind us that kindness is alive and well. The ripple effect grows every time someone chooses to notice it.

Here are the kindness stories from our community this week.

Community Care

This morning out of my window, I saw a van slowing to let an elderly woman cross the main road with her dog, she was walking very slowly. Just after she reached the pavement she fell onto it, she must have fainted in the heat.

I was going to call an ambulance, but the van screeched to a halt, the male driver ran out to see if she was okay, and another car stopped the other side of the road, the male driver and passenger got out to also check her.

I think she was unconscious, the men were standing around her getting out their phones, about to call an ambulance…when one just happened to drive by on the road! The first man flagged the ambulance down, the paramedics got out and talked to the men about what happened.

Then they looked after the lady, then took her and her dog away in the ambulance.

The cars on the main road were carefully driving past, no one was hooting or getting angry.

The best part was, I saw the lady walking home happily with her dog later, past my house.

Amazing community spirit of strangers coming together to save someone, and the happy coincidence of an ambulance driving by at the right moment.

Share your kindness story

These real kindness stories show how powerful small moments can be. When we notice them, share them, and celebrate them, we help make kindness more visible, and that visibility inspires more people to notice it too.

If you’ve witnessed or experienced kindness recently, we’d love to hear your story. You can share it with us here: https://timeforkindness.co.uk/share-your-story/
