There is a lady at my mum’s WI group who collects knitted items to take to the local hospital, the Royal Berkshire Hospital. There is a range of patterns for use in different wards and for different reasons.
Mum and her fellow Women’s Institute group members have knitted: knee blankets, forget me not armbands so they can quickly identify dementia patients, hearts that go in memory bags, tiny hats for premature babies.
It’s a great way to use their skills and be part of something.
