Soldier takes troops from frontlines to airport via shops.

The sign at the entrance way to Camp Bastion in Helmand, Afghanistan.

We’ve been told about a kind soldier who, when picking up troops coming back from the front lines for changeover, rather than taking them straight to the airport they would be offered the chance to go to some shops in case they wanted presents for loved ones or just a chance to ease into normality again before going home.

It’s wonderful to hear stories like this which really highlight what a big difference a small act of kindness can make to people’s lives.
