“I’d recently cracked a rib and turned a corner on the underground when travelling round London to see Cabaret at the Kitcat club with my friend Liz and my godmother, Mary.
I was faced with two flights of stairs and a suitcase. What to do? I’d been told not to lift anything.
Suddenly a young man asked if I needed help. How kind! He took my case to the top.
Same thing going up just three steps at Euston – another young man just relieved me of the case and put it at the top.
Over and over again, sometimes going out of their way, so many people, young and old, men and women took my case up and down steps, on and off trains.
I’d like to thank everyone who helped an older woman with her case between St Pancreas, Catford, London Bridge, Kenton and Kings Cross.”
This story is such a clear example of what we believe here at Time for Kindness – kindness is happening all the time everywhere, we just so often don’t talk about it.
Thanks to Jane for telling us so we could share it even further!
