Marmalade kindness in a supermarket

a jar of marmalade with a decorative spoon in it, a ribbon around it and a label reading "orange marmalade."

“I was in a supermarket buying a jar of marmalade. I don’t have the strength I used to have in my hands and as I live alone, there’s no-one at home to open jars for me. I noticed a young chap near me in the aisle, so I asked him if he could loosen the lid for me. That way I knew that I would be able to open the marmalade at home and have it on my toast.

It was really kind of him to help me out like that. He did first check that I was planning to buy the jar, which made me laugh!”

Big thank you to the anonymous person who shared this beautiful story of everyday kindness with me.
