“For some reason my Dad has become hung up on what he’s supposed to do to get ready for Christmas, that he must go shopping and so on. Last week he decided he absolutely must get the Christmas tree and decorations down from the loft.
It’s not really safe for him to be charging up and down the ladder, lugging boxes, but he wasn’t going to let that stop him so Tris and I dashed round to help.
Everyone else knows that it could have waited until the weekend, but Dad’s brain doesn’t. It’s frustrating and distressing in equal measure.
Dementia UK say that if you love someone living with dementia you’re living with it too. This is such an accurate description for families like ours.”
