Centre for Research on Kindness practice what they research.

A building at the Universiry of Sussex. It is round with lots of windows and a tipi style green roof. Around it is a grassy area and trees.

Within literally about 10 minutes of arriving at the University of Sussex for a meeting with Professor Robin Bannerjee, co-founder of the Centre for Research on Kindness, I had received an act of kindness.

I was trying to find the ladies loo, obviously wandering with a vague look on my face, and a member of staff stopped me to ask if I needed help finding where I was going.

I later learned from Robin that not only do they have the research centre, but also kindness is an important internal value for the whole university community – and that’s what I experienced in action.

It’s not only at the research centre where kindness happens though, it’s everyday and everywhere. Here are some other examples:

Housemate mutes Not Going Out as beep distresses dog.

Librarian goes above and beyond.

Accident on black ice creates cycle of kindness.
