Saying thank you to someone who has contributed to your work is a quick and easy show of kindness.
I recently helped out my freelance colleague and friend, Katie Duckworth, who runs the Leaders Who Brunch networking group. She was running a session on how we can all access our inner creativity to help find new solutions to the current challenges we face. As she knows that I’m an amateur artist (with the emphasis on the amateur bit!) she asked me if I would talk about my experiences and run a couple of exercises to help people access their own creativity in fun ways.
I did and I loved it! And the participants said they had fun too 🙂
Yesterday I received an unexpected parcel in the post: out hopped this squeaky frog (and the Eat That Frog! book by Brian Tracy). It was a thank you from Katie for helping out.
It was such a kind gesture – especially as it was totally unexpected. I had so much fun doing the session itself, that was my ‘reward’.
Thanks, Katie!
