At Time for Kindness, we believe kindness is everywhere. When we take a moment to notice it, whether it’s in our families, our communities, or even in the strangers we pass in the street, we start to see just how much good is happening around us every single day.
That’s why we share real kindness stories from our community every week. These small acts of kindness matter. They remind us that kindness is alive and well. The ripple effect grows every time someone chooses to notice it.
Here are the kindness stories from our community this week.
A field adventure with unexpected kindness
“I was walking my dogs early this morning and decided to risk going through a field full of young bullocks. They followed me at quite a pace and despite me shouting in my best Teaching Assistant voice “I’m not scared of you, I work with children. Go away!” follow me they did. Luckily the dogs and me made it safely to the gate to be met by a concerned stranger who had been cycling along the canal bank at the time when she heard a hullabaloo coming from a slightly bonkers dog walker. Teddy, Dora and I survived the cheeky calves but huge thanks to the lady who stopped to check.”
Teenagers cheering on their friend
“As my daughter made her way home the other day, she saw a group of teenage lads teaching their friend to ride a bike, kindly encouraging him when he needed it the most.”
A rainy‑day commute made easier
“My husband normally has a 20-minute walk between his office and the train station for his commute. With the heavy showers we had yesterday, a colleague offered to give him a lift instead. He mentioned he needed to go to the supermarket on the way home, so she dropped him right outside. Once he’d done his shopping, the rain had stopped, and he only had a 2-minute walk to the station, so he came home dry.”
Connection sparked in an airport lounge
“I was at the airport recently when I saw some kids in an airport lounge making friends and playing together while waiting for their flight, which led their parents to chat with each other and build a connection.”
A boss who showed gentle understanding
“My boss told me to take things easy and take as many breaks as I needed when I told her I was feeling wobbly about a difficult family situation.”
Share your kindness story
These real kindness stories show how powerful small moments can be. When we notice them, share them, and celebrate them, we help make kindness more visible, and that visibility inspires more people to notice it too.
If you’ve witnessed or experienced kindness recently, we’d love to hear your story. You can share it with us here: https://timeforkindness.co.uk/share-your-story/
