Takeaway Christmas dinner for sick friend.

Mum was really looking forward to her WI Christmas lunch at a local pub. Unfortunately she came down with a bad cold and wasn’t able to go – although she was feeling better on the day, she didn’t want to spread germs. So that she didn’t miss out, the pub packed up her lunch in […]

A Twitter thread between Nicola Cliffe and TweetChizone. Nicola asks “what is the kindest thing a stranger has done or said to you?” TweetChizone replies “Oh god, I can’t even tell this story and not cry. I use to manage an LGBT bookstore, when bookstores were still a thing. One night, a caller says he thinks he might be gay and considering self harm. We are not a crisis center! But as long as we’re talking, he’s safe, right? So I talk to this guy and I answer questions and I try to be encouraging and I’m maybe sounding a little frantic and I’m definitely ignoring the 4-5 customers in the store, and this angel of a woman puts her hand on my shoulder and asks for the phone. ‘My turn’” she says. And she, this 50 something lesbian talks to this stranger on the phone. And a line forms behind her. EVery customer in that store knows that call, knows that feeling, and every person takes a turn talking to that man. That story comforts me so much to this day.” Nicole replies “This is so kind I cannot.”

Entire LGBT bookstore supports struggling gay man.

We loved this story of the kindness of everyone in an LGBT bookstore – it shows just how many kind people there are out there. “I used to manage an LGBT bookstore, when bookstores were still a thing. One night, a caller says he thinks he might be gay and considering self harm. We are

Client reminds that invoice hasn’t been sent.

What kindness did you experience at work this month? Anon told us about a client who got in touch to remind her that she had not yet sent them an invoice for a workshop she had run for them. She thought it was really kind because they were essentially telling her that they value her

Festival of Kindness delivers 300,000 gifts and meals to those in need.

Social Bite, a homelessness charity, are working to deliver Christmas dinners and gifts to unhoused people in Scotland through their Festival of Kindness. They’ve put Christmas trees up in different cities for people to leave gifts under which will then be delivered to those in need. They’re also welcoming donations to fund getting 300,000 meals,

Help after man fell crossing the street.

“A man fell as he was crossing the street I had just crossed, so I and other people stopped to help him. There’s still kindness in this world.” You’re so right – there is lots of kindness in the world, that’s why we share stories of kindness every day, to help people see it. Follow

Kindness at The Business Show’s keynote talks.

At The Business Show I saw someone move seats in the keynote theatre space so that 2 other attendees who already knew each other could sit together. Small acts of kindness like this are what we’re all about so it was great to see them on show at such a popular event. See more examples

Kindness during ferry delays at Cairnryan port.

“I was traveling to Ireland for a funeral and the ferry was delayed. I heard the guy checking us in say to someone on the phone ‘she’s off to a funeral’ and ‘I’m on the fucking home screen’ 🤣. I had no idea what was going on, then he gets off the phone and gives me tickets

“I had a frantic call from my daughter who had skidded on a road in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully a very kind gentleman saw her and waited with her until I could get there. We also experienced kindness from the wonderful Dave who drove us all the way back to the cottage leaving our

Place setting for left handed resident.

“I live at Charterhouse London and an important part of the life here is eating together as a community. The brilliant kitchen team, as well as supplying fabulous food, are also marvelous in other ways. For instance, they noticed that I am left handed and so at each meal, I swapped my knife and fork
