Vet supports anxious dog and owner.

a medium size white and grey dog lying in the backseat of a car. Her face in the foreground with her chin resting on a hammock as she looks dopy, the rest of her body behind her resting on the seat

“One of our dogs is very anxious at the vet. She was a rescue and although she’s come a long way, trips to the vet are really difficult for her.

Today she had the best ever visit thanks to Josie, a senior nurse at Donview Vets.

She worked with us to find the right relaxing meds, she fed Ceili chicken, she worked at her speed – which is VERY slow and gentle. Nothing was rushed and she let me do a lot of the handling. She extended the usual appointment time so we could have the best possible experience.

As a result, she was able to do checks and tests that we really needed and haven’t been able to do in the past without panic and a lot of stress.

This is so important for an older, scared dog and it has made this dog mum very, very happy for us both to be shown so much kindness.

We are happy to provide photos of a very relaxed Ceili!”

How wonderful to have such a kind vet and big thanks to Sarah for sending us this story to share.
