“On the way back from a spooky Halloween walk through moor valley our car broke down on the A31 eastbound. We just made it up the hill and on to the beginning of a slip road to tuck in behind a highway maintenance truck.
I got my two boys ages 8 and 10 out the car and tapped in the window of the truck. Let’s called the man Gman (in case he gets in to trouble with his employer) got out and said we could sit in his truck whilst he radioed his colleagues in the truck in front to reverse to help push the car out of danger of the oncoming traffic.
Gman was watching his brothers funeral live in Barbados via YouTube as he wasn’t able to fly out. He stopped this to help us.
Once the car was tucked off the A31 he had to go. But an hour later returned with snacks and drinks for the kids.
A massive thank you to Gman for his kindness in our hour of need and making what was a very scary Halloween less so for the kids.”
