I was in the queue at Boots pharmacy and a mum came in carrying her toddler who had a cut on her face.
Knowing what it can be like queuing with a young child who’s in some distress, I offered for her to go in front of me and then several other people did the same so that she didn’t need to wait very long at all.
What was particularly nice was that it made the whole queue smile when we heard that it was the little girl’s birthday the next day and we were doing our bit to make things easier for mum and daughter.
The little girl was also very chatty when she realised the whole queue were interested!
