The recent riots which created such distress and damage also highlighted what was undoubtedly the single biggest show of collective kindness we’ve seen in the UK for a long time.
People coming out en masse to protect those who were being targeted.
Communities coming together to clean up the mess left by the rioters.
Social media posts declaring loudly that this is not what the UK stands for and that the rioters did not represent Britains.
Fundraisers to help rebuild family businesses and shops which were destroyed or replace damaged possessions.
The response illustrates the founding principle of Time for Kindness; that kindness exists everywhere in huge amounts, we just don’t talk about it enough.
As one of our TfK supporters told us “I really noticed the anti fascists come out in force to make human shields round refugee centres and immigration centres. That’s kindness.”
Commit to seeing kindness in the world and shouting about it by becoming a Kindness Ambassador, all the details are here.
