Teenager makes transition to 6th form easier for a friend.

A teenage boy climbing in an indoor climbing room. He is wearing orange shorts and a blue top with many climbing walls behind him. Text overlaid reads “Teenager makes transition to 6th form easier for a friend.”

“My son told me he was proud of himself as he set off to the climbing centre yesterday, so I asked him why.

He has a friend he’s recently reconnected with after being friends in the early years of secondary school but then she had to leave because of various mental health issues, and Covid lockdowns.

They’re both about to go to the same 6th form so at the induction day he introduced her to a couple of his other friends. They got on well, so he encouraged her to come along to climbing with them yesterday. And she did, and she had a great time.

Knowing that he can empathise with her and connect people with each other makes me feel so incredibly proud.”

Big thanks to the anonymous proud parent who sent this in – what a kind son you’ve raised!
