Security at Pulp concert show kindness to disabled person.

4 members of Pulp on stage at Glasgow OVO hydro arena with a screen showing blue sky with fluffy clouds behind them. 3 of the people are standing at the top of the stage while one person walks down some steps going across the stage which are lit up blue.

“I was in the queue for Pulp concert at Glasgow OVO Hydro. I dreaded getting to the front and having to do the bag check.

I’m disabled. I wear a mask and had a walking stick. I have never come across such events having a seat for people to sit in as they empty everything – most times they don’t even provide not a table to rest your bag on.

The security asked me to empty my bag. I went to struggle to bend over and get to the ground with my bag since I also had my stick and dodgy hips, to empty it out onto the ground. I said ‘sorry it’ll take a while, it’s ram packed with all the shit I need for my disability.’

Security then stopped me getting to the floor and informed me “that’s ok, don’t empty it” and I stood up and they scanned my bag with a wand thing instead and let me in without me having to lay out all my disabled stuff for the whole queue to see (and then witness me struggle to get everything back IN again).”

What a wonderful example of kindness!
