“I was in a queue at intermission of a concert for the disabled toilets. There were several of us in the queue all of us with walking sticks.
Everyone helpfully held the door for the next disabled person to enter. It was also radar-locked if you let it fully close too.
I had walked by a gigantic queue for the female toilets to get to this solo disabled toilet. I spotted a very heavily pregnant person in that bigger queue – shifting from foot to foot… The way you do when you’re aching to go to the toilet. So I asked my disabled queue comrades if we could let the pregnant person in – and everyone enthusiastically said stuff along the lines of ‘aye of course!’ And ‘I’m not desperate so she can go in front of me!’ Or ‘of course get her in here!’
I then approached the pregnant person, explained and got them into the disabled toilet. They were so grateful. They tried to say no too but relented when I said everyone had already agreed and when she looked over they were smiling towards us. Someone making the ‘come’ hand gesture.”
