One night there was an issue (chef unwell I think) so that the only available food was very boring indeed, just some rice and boiled veg. One of the nurses rushed to the kitchens and managed to smuggle my partner a number of vegan desserts to brighten up mealtime.
She didn’t have to do this at all and the staff are so busy but she made time to do it.”
