Lucy the Lake District kindness superhero.

a view of the a lush green valley in the lake district. Fields stretch out across it with a trees around and a small village in the middle. Either side and in the distance large hills climb towards the blue sky.

“I was invited out on a date (4th one so very new) and my date suggested we park up somewhere remote to avoid any chaos on the roads and walk the three miles to the show.

Tim being a lake lander knows the district like the back of his hand but misjudged this walk immensely. We found ourselves on an extremely arduous track, no clear path and stretching over rocks, deep in bracken with no end in sight. I loved it but five hours later we got to the show which was almost over, thirsty, hungry and physically exhausted.

We needed food and water but little was available and we still had a huge treck back to the car.

My date was a hero and flagged the lovely Lucy down in the car park, he begged for a lift and thankfully she was going our way. It felt like the drive was about 15minutes so can you imagine how long the walk would have been! Must say hi to her two young children who happily shared the journey with us. Boy could Lucy drive, managing tight bends and oncoming traffic with the narrow lanes with ease.

Thank you so much Lucy, you truly were a godsend and I’ll never forget your kindness, I honestly cannot describe how exhausted I was. What a superstar to accept two dishevelled strangers with your youngsters.

NB Date didn’t work out but a great day was had.”

Oh Joanne, what an eventful date! We certainly think Lucy is a kindness superhero!
