Kindness of strangers on public transport

a woman bends down to a toddler in a buggy to look them lovingly in the face.

While on a train journey at the weekend, I saw somebody helping to carry a child’s pushchair down some stairs.

It’s really is tricky when you’re travelling on public transport with a buggy, so it always pleases me to see this sort of thing – such an easy way to show kindness. As long as you are physically capable of lifting something that heavy, of course, I don’t want anyone to exacerbate a bad back or cause a hernia.
