“I was in Glasgow for work with the Army for a meeting at our HQ. At the end of the meeting and after helping one of the lads waterproof some maps I suggested we went to a local Cafe called Sweeny’s for lunch as I love their Pie Chips and beans.
We came in and the small cafe was empty except a table of 5 elderly people. We said hello and had a laugh about the Navy and the Army.
We sat down and ordered our food. Shortly afterwards the older man from the table sat next to us go up and walked over to the counter. He then came to us and said I just want to thank you for your service!
He himself was a retired soldier from the Royal Highland fusileers.
Thank you to Peter the Veteran from Barry, Tam and Darran the permanent staff instructors from 6 SCOTS.”
And a thank you from us to Sweeney’s for providing us with the photo to go with this wonderful story!
