“My husband died recently & shortly afterwards I started walking two gorgeous miniature dachshunds, Dottie & Penny for friends who had recently moved house.
I hadn’t been to their new place before & having decided to walk there I found myself totally lost, late, & with no mobile signal.
It was in a quiet residential area of Harpenden & I just couldn’t get my bearings & had been walking round in circles & retracing my steps for ages.
As I stood on a street corner wondering which way to go a car pulled over & a young woman asked if I was ok. Feeling very wobbly by then I burst out crying. She jumped out of the car & gave me a big hug. Needing to hurry to an appointment with her small child, she then saw a car coming along the road & flagged it down!
The car, whose driver was a mature lady who I learned was visiting her 93 year-old friend, kindly invited me to jump into her car. She promptly typed the address into her satnav & delivered me to my destination.
I was so grateful to both of those women that day; they helped me in ways that they couldn’t have realised at the time.
Dottie & Penny got their walk & I felt so grateful to both of those kind women for helping me out at what was a time of great emotional stress.”
Thank you to Anne for sending this incredible example of kindness to us! Send in yours here.
