“At 9.30am on my way to a meeting in Birmingham my car hit a pothole and less than a mile later my front tyre was flat. So I parked as safely as I could do off a dual carriageway (eek!!!), called the police and Roadside Emergency.
The police came out within 30 mins to check I wasn’t an obstruction. 2 hours later I am still stuck there.
A brilliant hero – Luke stopped by to see if he could help me. He tried to pump up my tyre but the damage was too great.
Then a dear friend of mine Oliver (brilliant hero number 2) came along and said if we could get the wheel off we could go and get a new one.
Then brilliant hero number 3 stopped – Jack. He had a low profile foot jack to get my dear mini high enough to get the tyre off. He stayed with the car whilst Oliver and I got a new tyre at nearby Formula One Autocentres where brilliant hero number 4 Jay helped me get a new tyre.
Back to my dear Minnie the Mini and Jack and Oliver fitted my new tyre so I could get home safely.”
Thanks to these kindness superheroes, Ann did make it to her daughter’s celebrations in the evening, a great result all round.
