“During our first term of university, we had a student in our close peer group who was in student halls and was only just making ends meet. Home could only support him so much.
When needed, I supported him for two semesters so he could eat socially and not have the anxiety that goes with not joining in with the rest of us.
Having had a few times in my life when I couldn’t even afford a coffee in a social situation. I couldn’t watch someone else deal with that, when I was in a position to help.”
