Community shows kindness during Berkshire Mock Trial competition.

stairs lead up to Reading crown court, a stone building with archways at the front and tall windows on both the ground and first floors. A coat of arms is displayed on the outside of the first floor behind the balcony. Black railings run around the outside.

“Local children were invited to take part in mock trials in the actual crown court near me on a Saturday afternoon to learn how the court system works.

The high sheriff and all of the magistrates do it entirely voluntarily and the magistrate even ran sessions after school for the children too.

It was for the Berkshire Mock Trial competition and the children all had parts like judge, witness, prosecutor, defendants team, etc. And then the magistrates explained why the sentences were reached so they understood the system.”

How kind of all those people to volunteer their time to educate the future generation like that! A big thank you to Laura Summers for letting us share this lovely story of community kindness.
