Asda worker in Barry celebrated for kindness.

View across lots of Asda checkouts with staff sat at each and conveyor belts filled with items way into the distance. It looks like a busy shopping day.]

Bro Radio have been celebrating Asda worker, Howard, who a Barry shopper says brightens her day with kindness.

She wrote in to Asda head office to tell them

“My little lad is autistic, doesn’t cope well at all shopping… Howard is so lovely to myself and to my son and he remembers our names since the first time we saw him. He doesn’t make me feel rushed at all when the shopping’s going on the conveyor belt, always chatty to myself and my little boy and he really makes us feel at ease whilst doing the shop. He is a fantastic member of staff and he should be recognised for how great his people skills. He has absolutely fantastic customer service.”

Howard’s response to this unexpected praise was to say “I love my job and I love meeting people, I’m a very people-oriented person. I like to chat to people and build a rapport with them. My aim is to make everyone special. A smile costs nothing.”

What a kindness superhero Howard is – we’re thrilled to see his kindness being celebrated. Read the full article here.
