American tourists show kindness in Paris

The glass pyramid of the Louvre.

On a recent trip to Paris, Claire and her family were standing in a queue waiting to go into the Louvre art gallery. It started to rain heavily. The family in front of them, also tourists, insisted on sharing their umbrellas so that Claire’s group didn’t get wet.

“It was so kind of them,” says Claire, “we would have been absolutely soaked before we even got inside otherwise. We had a really nice chat while we were waiting too. They were visiting from America.”

As a great philosopher once said – you can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella. And what a huge kindness that small act is.
