A few games, a lot of heart

A Jenga tower of light brown wooden blocks with numbers on. The tower has a solid base but many pieces missing as it goes further up with a point about a third of the way up seemingly precariously balanced on just one centre block. The tower is on a table with a black cloth on it. There are snacks and a pair of glasses on the table behind it.

Every few months, Sara Yahia visits foster homes with friends, bringing little treat bags: crayons, sweets, and toys. On one visit, she met Leo, a quiet 5-year-old. He didn’t speak until a game of Jenga made him burst into giggles. Later, a caregiver told Sara he hadn’t laughed in weeks. That moment? A breakthrough.

Then came Noura, 7, bold and imaginative, asking if Sara could visit every day. They played and made up superhero names.

Sara never asked too many questions. She just showed up, listened, and played. For the kids, love looked like someone who stayed, and dedicate them some time.

We love hearing about Sara’s acts of kindness, she’s a real kindness superhero – and there are lots more of you out there too, so let’s hear how you were kind today.
