“My friend just found out she’s coeliac and was sad about having to give up her favourite snacks. Luckily another coeliac friend recommended some chocolatey favourites so I could pass that on and also told me about the new GF Colin the Caterpillar that M&S had just released.
I was round the corner from M&S so I thought I would try and get them both one, but the shelf was empty. Luckily I saw a very busy member of staff and asked when they would next be delivered.
They went to find out and realised there were 4 somewhere in the shop in a pile of crates for restocking. They found them right at the bottom. Another colleague came to help them so they could undo the whole giant pile of crates to get them for me.
I was so happy they went to all that effort even though it was really busy! The friends were both really happy to be able to eat an iconic cake again. I also think it’s really kind to be inclusive and make products for people with dietary requirements so yay for GF Colin finally being here and, I’m told, delicious!!”
This lovely story that hit our inbox instead of Sara Cox’s (we hope it made it to her too) is a great example of kindness in friendship and some M&S employees going above and beyond. Check out even more examples of people being kind:
