“I was travelling home from a day in London, back to North Devon. Unfortunately, between Reading and Taunton, I was taken ill very unexpectedly and passed out in a toilet, having rushed into it feeling very sick. The thud of my passing out was heard by a lovely lady, Mitas, who raised the alarm.
Soon I was being helped by Mitas, Kate, an Anaesthetist who had answered the shout for help, and two other lovely Anaesthetists who had been travelling back to Cornwall after a busy day on a training course.
They went above and beyond to help me and carried me off the train at Taunton to wait for an ambulance.
Once in Taunton station, Ryan and Adam, 2 Security Officers, nobly stayed with me and helped me when I was being very poorly.
Finally, they were replaced by the lovely James, the station’s Despatch Officer, who stayed with me and helped me on my way eventually.
All these lovely people who caring and compassionate – I am so grateful. I would like to say a huge sorry too to all the passengers on the train for holding it up; not ideal at the end of a long week! I am home now and feeling so much better but will always be grateful for everyone’s care and support.”
