“My mum who is 92 was using a shopping trolley type buggy to go to the local shop on her own. When navigating a dropped kerb the wheels spun round the opposite way causing the trolley to run away from her.
Unfortunately, she fell to the ground saving herself with her arm. She was unable to get up herself but more or less as soon as she had fallen 2 men in a truck pulled up and jumped out and kindly helped her to her feet.
She explained she only lived 2 minutes away but the two kind gentlemen put her in their truck with the trolley in the back and ran her home and saw she was in her home safely. I would just like to say how grateful my mum and my siblings are for them stopping and helping her so quickly without her having to try and contact someone.
My mum does wear one of the safety pendants that she could have pressed to alert one of us but this wasn’t needed as they came along just at the right time and we wanted to say a huge thank you to them.
My mum’s arm is a little sore a couple of days later now but it could have been far worse or she could have even ended up in hospital with a bad break so we are very grateful.”
