Bad day brings out kindness – how many can you see?

a pair of legs wearing brown trousers with large wet patches along the outside of one thigh and the inside of the other.

“I had to get to court before 9.15am, to get my best friend’s deed poll form legally witnessed. I take my coffee with me.

I arrive with enough time for my coffee. Only to pick my mug up and it slip right out of my hands… spilling everywhere all over me + car! Oops! There’s no time to return home. I get a jacket, tie it around my waist + head in.

Going through security scanner thing and of course my keychain sets it off. I had hoped to cover up my coffee situation and I finally recognise it must also reek. I make my first apology and get laughs with the security person patting my wet legs down.

At reception upstairs the person did not have their tannoy on and we had a shout fest back and forth til they finally realised it was not on. I was just about to resort to shoving the deed poll form up to the window when they realised and we had laugh about it.

Hey, it happens! They thought I just had poor hearing.

I’m taken to a very small room, and two solicitors are there. They explain that they are doing a favour coz they don’t normally do this sort of thing, but Solicitor A took our complex situation to his bosses and agreed that A could sign it. I’d explained prior – my friend is in Wales, me in Scotland but the UK Govt not stating who can witness the form for a Scottish declarant (me).

At the end after thanking, I apologise ‘I’m so sorry if I stink of coffee.. arthritis hands, my coffee slipped out onto me, I’m sorry if your pen is sticky’ and showed them my coffee covered trousers. Both laughed. You just got to right!? We all have one of those days!”

Sometimes an everything-going-wrong day leads to a lot of kindness as this story sent in to us shows. How many acts of kindness can you spot in this story?
