Women help disabled person at a festival access the toilet.

View of Amy McDonald performing on stage at a festival. In front of the stage are lots of people and in the foreground a metal fence. A large screen shows Amy performing on stage to the right.

Abled women at a festival show kindness through strength outside a disabled toilet – “When I went to a see Amy McDonald in concert at Northern Meeting Park there was big queues for the toilets and everybody was using the disabled toilet. I ran to the front saying “I’m disabled, I need to use this toilet.” People continued to go into the disbled toilet so I couldn’t.

Two women stopped more people going in saying “this person is actually disabled, they need to use this toilet” and blocked it off while I went in.

I have a prolapsing bladder and am so grateful that they stepped up and helped me.” Big thanks to the disabled follower for sharing this experience of kindness and huge shout out to those women for proving kindness isn’t weakness, sometimes it takes real strength!
